Dr. Richard Lints

Dr. Lints is the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Hamilton Campus. He originally joined the Gordon-Conwell faculty in 1986 having previously served as Lecturer in Philosophical Theology at Trinity College in Bristol, UK. He served as Professor of Systematic and Philosophical Theology from 1994 until his appointment as Andrew Mutch Distinguished Professor of Theology in 2008. He has also taught at several other colleges and theological schools, including Yale Divinity School, the University of Notre Dame, Westminster Theological Seminary and Reformed Theological Seminary. An ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America, Dr. Lints is an accomplished church planter (Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Concord, MA) and has served in a variety of other pastoral positions. He is a frequent preacher and conference speaker. He is on the board of the Gospel Culture Center and is its Theologian in Residence. Dr. Lints scholarly interests have focused on the interface between theology and philosophy. He teaches courses in Christian Dogmatics, Philosophical Theology and Church and Culture, and his writings have focused on the nature of theology, theological interpretations of modernity and Reformed Biblical theology. He has also been keen to encourage the tradition-specific theological conversation across a wide array of evangelical voices. Dr. Lints personal interests include leisure time with his family, long walks on the beaches of the North Shore with his wife, national politics and all things Boston sports. Dr. Lints and his wife, Ann, reside in Magnolia, MA, and have three grown children, Kate, Sarah and Lucas.
